Guests are not allowed to bring hard liquor onboard. guests would be allowed to bring wine and champagne onboard. For each bottle that is brought onboard would have a corkage fee added on to their onboard account.
Corkage Fees:
$15.00 USD 750 ml bottle
$20.00 USD 1,000 ml bottle
$30.00 USD 1,500 ml magnum
These fees are per bottle.

You cannot bring your own liquor onboard the ship. Any liquor you bring onboard the ship will be confiscated by the ship's security and returned to you on the last night of the cruise. Same is true for any liquor you purchase at any of the ports you visit.
However, you are allowed to bring wine and champagne onboard the ship but there is a corkage fee ranging from $15-$30 per bottle.

Wine an champagne only, and as such you will be charged a corkage fee for each bottle, I believe there is a limit of two bottles.

Question

I have never cruised before and have booked for the Bahamas in November 2014. I am very confused about everything!

Do I have to pay to go to the beach on an excursion?

If you book an excursion from the ship it will cost you. You can go to the beach in the Bahamas or in Florida on your own and that will only cost you whatever the transportation cost are (ie taxi or bus fare)

There is no need to be confused. NCL.com does a great job at providing information that will be useful for you as will numerous message boards online.
You do not need to book an excursion on the ship to go to the beach, but there are advantages for doing so. You are free to get a taxi at the pier and arrange a return trip on your own, or if you book an NCL excursion, transportation will usually be provided, it will be safe and secure, and the ship will not leave without you should the excursion run late. If you run late using your own arrangements, the ship will not wait for you. There are pro's and con's to both, but the safe way is to book your trip through an NCL excursion in this writer's opinion.

If you don't want to take the ship's excursion, you can just go ashore and do as you like on your own. The biggest advantage of NCL's excursions is the fact that they'll wait for you if the excursion runs late for any reason. If you're out on your own and get back late, they'll leave without you and you have to catch up on your own.

All staterooms have hair dryers. The hair dryers are the basic type without any attachments.
The amenities the ship's stateroom is just as in any hotel. Mini-fridge, phone, TV, coffee maker (not in inside & ocean view staterooms), ice bucket, beach towels, mini-safe, hair dryer, liquid soap and shampoo.

Yes. There is a charge for it. You can pay for it individually or you can buy the soda package which will allow you to have unlimited sodas at any bar or restaurant on the ship.
You can read about it in the Gifts & More section on this website

There is no self service laundry fleetwide, however we do offer laundry and dry cleaning services at a charge.

answer 2
No. There are no self-service laundries. All ships offer laundry, dry clean & pressing services. They have laundry bags in your stateroom that you can give to the cabin stewards. Usually around the middle of the cruise they offer discounts on the services.
However, I wouldn't use it for any delicate or expensive dresses.

There are no self-service laundries at all. You can have your cleaning done at the ship's laundry for a nominal fee. They usually have a one-day special toward the end of the cruise. Watch for it in the events paper.

Sort of- you are requried to rent a vest from equipment rental before snorkeling. I am not sure if everyone does this or if they enforce it.

answer 1
We do offer ground transportation from Ft. Lauderdale airport to the Miami Port. Transfers are $ 50.00 per person round trip, transfers may be added onto a reservation up until 4 days prior to the sailing. Once we are within 4 days to the sailing the guests would be able to purchase transfers at the airport on the day of the sailing.

All adults sailing in the same cabin are required to purchase the package and sharing of the package is not allowed. I believe the terms and condtions of the package allows NCL to cancel the package if it is abused.

I would assume that you are responsible for obtaining transport to the hotel unless there is something specific in the paperwork that says otherwise.
