It depends on what time the ship would be departing the port. Guests would be required to be back onboard at least 1 hour to the departure.

The hours will be posted in your Freestyle Daily newsletter, there will be announcements made, and also there will be signage as you disembark the ship what time you need to be back on board.

In case of Bermuda cruises, the ship docks at the port for 3 days. You can disembark and embark the ship any time of the day. You have to back on the ship at least 1 hours before sail time on the last day.
At all other destinations where the ship docks in the morning and leaves in the evening, you have to be back on the ship 1 hour before sail time.

You can go ashore shortly after the ship arrives in port on Wednesday and they clear customs, and you can come and go as you please until the ship sails on Friday. I don't believe they "lock up" the ship at night. We had a pier-facing room on our last trip and saw people returning as late as 1am before we turned in.

They'll announce each morning when the ship has been cleared and you can disembark. All aboard time will also be announced, and is usually one hour prior to the scheduled departure time.

Room configuration

Is there any way to tell the configuration of room....for instance I would prefer a cabin with the bed located close to the bathroom not by the balcony.
Can anyone answer that question?

If you look at your floorplan & stateroom, you will see an area where the room is a tad bigger. The "bump" or extra space is where the bed is located.

Actually, I sailed on the Breakaway last March and our balcony room had the bed near the balcony. We were on deck eleven.

You can't really configure the room too much. The beds are located closer to the bathroom. In the balcony the sofa is located next to the balcony. Since that is the configuration you want, you should be fine.
Here's the link to the deck plans for the ship. You can select your deck and your stateroom and check out the floor plan for your room.

Most bathrooms are located as close to the bed (if not closer) as the bed is to the balcony, You can go to www.ncl.com, click on the tab 'Learn About Our Cruises', hover your mouse on 'View Details' of the Ship you want to explorer & select 'Staterooms'. There you can see the photo or floor plan (room configuration) of the various stateroom types.

Don't even bother bringing water. We did based on the answers to this question and it was a waste. There is plenty of water available on the ship, as well as iced tea and lemonade. All free.

This should not be a problem as long as they are factory sealed. You may be asked to take them out to verify at security. I had some quart iced tea bottles in my checked baggage that got flagged and I had to open my luggage on the ship. This is intended to deter bringing aboard alcohol.

Yes at the Dockyard. We always purchase the 3 days pass for about $30.. This is an unlimited bus/ferry pass. It's a great way to explore the islands. The people are always friendly and very helpful.

The ship docks at Kings Wharf, it is a 3 min walk to the transportation whether it be the buses or ferries. At the pier as you disembark the ship you can purchase 1,2, or 3 day passes that are good for use on either mode of transportation.
There are also places to rent mopeds or scooters, but it is highly recommended not to try this as for one they drive on the opposite side of the street (compared to the U.S.) and the driving down there is quite erratic.

They will not be next to each other but can be in close proximity to each other as Studio staterooms are co-located on decks 10 & 11. Also, Studios are inside staterooms and Mini-suites have balconies. Refer to the following deck plan links for reference.

The studio staterooms are inside room, so you cannot book a balcony or a mini-suite adjoining a studio. However, you can book it on the same deck.
Here's the floor plan for deck 10. It has the studio staterooms and mini-suites in the same deck.

How handicap accessible is the Breakaway and it's activities and entertainment?

Also, how accessible is the port along with Bermuda itself (including shore excursions and beaches).

I just returned and had a rented scooter- very needed with all the places to go on board. I recommend getting a handicap room close to the elevators. The cabin area halls are very narrow and often blocked with laundry and restocking carts. Stewards were always helpful and moved them, but it was great to only have a short hall to get into my room.

We just got back from our cruise and can tell you that most of the ship is acesable but during the day with all the deck chairs out I ended up carrying my wife several times to get on and off the sun decks,
I was also told that that all the non handicap rooms doors openings were 26 inches but the clear opening to get a scooter is 24 inches, had to play the scooter game because of this, one last thing also make sure your room is not next to a fire door, most rooms have doors to 2 rooms side by side but not the rooms next to fire door, it will be almost impossible for the person who is handicap to get into the room without help.

answer 3
All the public areas of the ship are handicap accessible. You won't have an issue moving about the ship and attending any of the events and entertainment onboard the ship.
The ship's crew will assist you in getting on and off the ship at the port. However, once you are in Bermuda, you will need to check the type of shore excursion you plan to do. If you plan to book the excursion through the ship, the shore excursion staff will assist you in planning the best excursion for you. However, if you plan to explore Bermuda on your own, you will have to do some research on the best options.
