The Haven pool is on Deck 16, just forward of the Haven Lounge. It's quite shallow, more of a wading pool, but there also are two spas, a sauna, and a sun deck adjacent to it.

Within the Haven courtyard, Deck 16 forward. If you see a photo, it may look like three pools. Two of them are only a few inches deep, meant for relaxing in a lounge chair. The third is the only swimming pool, and it's on the small side. There are also two hot tubs in the courtyard.

do i have to use the same debit card that we paid for the cruise with when boarding (for the initial authorization hold?

What if there isnt $300 in the account, can you use a cash hold

Yes, you can use cash to setup your initial account. However, your account will be frozen if you go over the limit until you add more funds. You can use a credit/debit card to setup your account at the port and you can use cash to settle the account on the last night of your cruise to avoid the charges showing up on your credit/debit card.
Also remember that the charges are per person, so you will have to multiply it by the number of guests travelling with you.

You can use any card you like. It's better to use credit cards than debit cards. The temporary hold placed against debit cards can take several days to be released, delaying your access to your money.

You may use any credit or debit card which NCL accepts. If the card you tender is declined because there is not a large enough balance available on it, you will be asked for a different card to secure your on board account.

Question

I'm booked in a MX category mini suite - the deck plans do not show these rooms - where are they and when can I expect a room number assignment

asked 5 months ago

answer 1
MX is the code for a guaranteed mini-suite, meaning that you are assured that NCL will provide you with a stateroom of equal or better quality than the minimum for that class of stateroom. Depending upon what rooms other passengers have reserved and what is left over, you are guaranteed to get at least a mini-suite. You could get lucky and be assigned a better stateroom. The only time my wife and I have sailed with a guaranteed room, we did not receive our cabin assignment until we arrived in Barcelona on the day before embarkation, and were pleasantly surprised to find that it was for a balcony room when we had paid for an inside cabin.

MX just means you guarantee a category of stateroom, but you do not get to specifically pick which room. They will assign you a room. It will be at least a room in the category you chose, which in your case is a mini suite. It can be on any deck, but it will be at minimum, a mini suite. You could possibly end up in a higher category room, but you will at the very least, be in a mini suite.

You have a GTY reservation which guarantee accommodation. The rate you got the room is a discount rate which means that the room will be assigned any time after the final payment is done. In some cases, the cabin may be assigned at the time of check-in. Log into your NCL account and check often for updates.

Here is the link for the floor plans on the ship. You can find the generic floor plan and pics for a mini-suite.

I only found them on deck 8 forward via the "Deck Plans" link even though the description says decks 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 & 14. Stateroom is assigned anytime between final payment and the day of boarding so you'll have to check your reservation via "My NCL" frequently to know what stateroom you've been assigned.

I believe that NY is one of the ports where they don't allow you to check in water and soda. It is a restriction imposed by the port authoritative and not NCL. However, you can carry them as your carry-on luggage.

Yes, you may bring cases of water or soda on board with you. They must be full, factory sealed cases. In most ports you may check them with your luggage and they will be delivered to your room. In other ports you must carry them on board yourself. I have not yet sailed out of New York, so I am not sure if you will need to carry them, but according to NCL policy they will not be confiscated. Does the Breakaway Ship have Reisling wine onboard?

answer 1
When we were on the Breakaway this past February, they offered three wines that may interest you. There was a Reisling from Rosemount Estate in Australia, a Spatelese from S.A. Prume in Germany, and a Gewurztraminer from Hogue Cellars Winery in the State of Washington. The selections change from time to time based on availability, so the offerings on your cruise may vary, but there probably will be some Reisling or similar wine available when you sail.

You can check in cases of sodas or water with your luggage. You can also put them in your carry on bag. whats the difference between a balcony room and a mini suite?

answer 1
The mini-suites are a little bigger, but you will not notice the difference really. As far a perks, a mini-suite is not considered a suite, so there are no added benefits. If you are looking for getting a mini-suite, get a spa mini-suite so that you get free access to the spa. I had one of these when I cruised earlier this year, and because the first two days were cool, it was nice to have access to the spa because there is a pool in there as well as other things.

The mini-suites are similar to balcony staterooms except for the fact that the rooms are slightly larger. Mini-suite guests don't have any of the perks of the suites.

No, the dress code is resort/smart casual the entire cruise. There are 1 or 2 ""Formal or Not"" evenings where it's optional to dress up if you want to and photographers are located usually in the Atrium for portrait photos. Refer to the following link for more info on what to pack/wear.

Totally up to you. They will have a night where its dress up or not, but the great thing about freestyle cruising, no formal dress required. Some people will dress up a little more if they eat in the Manhattan room, but by no means is formal wear required.

It is not required. With NCL's Freestyle Cruising, resort casual is acceptable anywhere on the ship, anytime. There will be one "dress up or not" night during your cruise. You may bring formal wear for that night, but it is not required. For more info, see this link:
