Are you asking about being flown out from the ship by a helicopter in case of an emergency? If you have an emergency back at home, they won't fly you out in a helicopter for it. If you or anyone else has a medical emergency at sea and if the ship's doctor determines that the condition is critical and they cannot wait until the ship reaches port, they can arrange for a medical airlift. You won't have to worry about passports in case of a medical airlift.
However, if you are in Bahamas and you miss the ship or have to fly back home due to an emergency at home, you will have to make your own travel arrangements back home and in that case you will require a passport.
