I assume you're asking about New York. La Guardia (LGA) is the closest, but not by so much that it really matters. If you get a significantly better flight into JFK or even Newark (EWR), you'll probably save overall, even though the taxi/limo fare and tolls will be higher.

Question

Are there additional Pre-paid gratuities for Haven Spa Suites

We originally booked a mini-suite room and pre-paid our gratuities. We just upgraded to a Haven Spa suite. It says we will have butler and conceierge service. Do we need to add additional gratuities?

We usually budget about $400. for the extra tips in The Haven. The butler and conceierge are not part of the pre-paid gratuities. There is also the Haven restaurant that we normally give extra to some of the wait staff that we get to know.

You can't pre-pay gratuities for your butler or concierge. You should tip them in cash - an amount you feel is commensurate with the services provided - at the end of the cruise, just as you might do with a cabin steward, waiter, bartender, etc. who has gone over and above what you expected.

If you can afford it, ABSOLUTELY. be careful, once you stay there it will be difficult going back to a normal suite. We took an upgrade to the Courtyard on the Gem about 5 cruises ago, we didn't even know that this area existed. It is a wonderful way to cruise. The pampering is out of our comfort zone, but once you realize that that is what all of the NCL members are there for, it is wonderful. We have taken the Breakaway last May & December and are booked for September all in the Haven. These have been the most relaxing cruises that we have been on.

I think the only person who can answer this is you - by trying the Haven. Then you'll be able to say if the additional benefits were worth the extra fare. We're doing the same - our first cruise in a Haven suite starts this weekend. Then we'll decide if it was worth it to us or not. You and I might reach different answers, but there's only one way to find out.

No. My understanding is that the water in the bathroom faucets is the same as what is served in the restaurants and ice, all from the desalination plant on-board. The past few cruises we have taken sports water bottles, filled them with ice then water from the faucet with no issues. The taste is fine.

There is no set rule for how many cases of water or sodas you can bring onboard the ship. 2-3 cases shouldn't cause any problem.

We normally take a case of whatever and apply a luggage tag to it and check it at curb side to be delivered as luggage.

The maximum weight limit is 50 lbs per suitcase. However, the rules are not as strict as airline rules. If you follow the airlines rules, you should be good.
