You are allowed to bring anything that is factory sealed. To prevent the spread of germs, you aren't allowed to bring any item that is homemade. Fresh fruits & vegetables are also not allowed for the same reason.

There is no published schedule available prior to the sailing. Once onboard you will receive a Freestyle Daily which will provide you with all the entertainment and activates that will be going on throughout the sailing for each day.

The day-to-day activities onboard the ship are planned by the cruise director and the entertainment staff. You will get a daily activities newsletter that will be delivered to your stateroom the night before.
There is not set day for the White Hot party or any other events on the ship. Usually the White Hot party occurs on the 3rd or 4th night of the cruise.

Events, activities and shows are not published prior to any cruise as they are subject change for each cruise. Every night a daily activity sheet will be left in your stateroom for the following day. Show times are typically at 7 PM and 9 PM and general information regarding activities and entertainment are available via the "What's on Board?" link above.

Depending on the stateroom type it could be drop-down bunk beds from the wall, trundle bed or couch that converts to a bed. Regardless of 3rd/4th bed type the room steward will set them up at night and put them away in the morning.

Balconies and mini-suites have fold-out sofas. Other cabins have bunk beds that fold out of the wall. Your cabin steward will set up the beds every evening and put them away again in the morning.

The Hilton New Orleans Riverside is the closest to the port. Depending on how soon the reconstruction of the cruise terminal is completed, you should be able to walk directly from your hotel room to the cruise terminal without ever going outside. The Marriott on Canal Place is about two or three blocks away from the ship terminal. For more info, check your favorite online mapping program after referring to this link:

proof of citizenship needed

We have passports and a government issued ID card. But it also says you need to have a proof of citizenship (which would be a birth certificate for us). Are all 3 required or will our passport and ID be enough?

If you are carrying your passport, you don't need any other kind of proof. You can carry your driver's lic along with the passport. You will need the driver's lic as a photo id when you disembark at the port.

A passport is the only identification you will need. Depending upon where you are traveling, you may also need a visa, and your passport may need to be valid for several months beyond the date of your cruise in order to get the visa.

Since you drop your check in bags with a porter and bring your carry on bags to the security area, I do not believe you would have an issue. I am not sure they would even know how many you had left with the porter.

Personally, I think the "two bags" policy is more of a guideline than a strict policy, but your best bet is to double check with the NCL customer service line I would think.

You (per person) are allowed to check in two pieces and have one carry on plus an additional bag like a laptop bag.

I believe that applies to checked luggage only as they don't usually count the number of bags. If you have a carry-on bag it must be small (i.e., (22 x 14 x 9 in) enough to fit through the x-ray scanner at the terminal like in airports. Also, you will have to carry it with you onboard the ship until your stateroom is ready which can be a couple of hours after boarding.

Majority of staterooms, including balcony, have two lower beds that convert into a queen-size bed. Beds for 3rd/4th guests in staterooms are fold-down bunk beds from the wall and/or trundle beds. Refer to stateroom descriptions for more info via the "Staterooms" link above.

NCL does not place a limit on the amount of wine you bring on board, but a corkage fee will be charged for each bottle you bring for consumption on the ship. In some ports you can check in your wine with your luggage and have it brought to your room. In other ports you will have to carry it on board yourself. For info on corkage fees, see this link:

No. Due to fire hazard issues, the staterooms do not have clothes iron and you are not allowed to bring irons on board the ship. However, you can request the Guest Services Desk or the cabin stewards they will be happy to bring you an iron and ironing board for a few hours.

Guests are not permitted to bring and use their own irons or steamers onboard. Norwegian Cruise Line carries a limited number of irons and ironing boards which can be loaned to guests for a few hours at a time. They can be requested through housekeeping or Guest Services Desk.

Irons and steamers would both be taken from guests at embarkation and returned at the end of the sailing.
