You are allowed to bring your own sodas, juices and water. You can check them or carry them on board. The products must be sealed or risk confiscation by the security. Make sure you tag them with your room tags so that they are delivered to your stateroom along with your luggage.

Must drinks be purchased with cash or can they be charged to a credit card?

You cannot use cash anywhere on the ship (except the casino).
When you check-in at the port, they will ask for a credit card to setup your onboard account. You use your room key card for all purchases onboard the ship like drinks, dinner, shopping, shore excursions etc. At the end of the cruise, all the charges will be billed to your credit card.

Neither, when you board the ship you establish an on board account utilizing either cash or a credit card. All on board expenses are charged to you on board account and you settle up the last night or morning of departure. At that time you can either pay cash or use a credit card.

All purchases are charged to your on-board account, which is linked to a credit card you supply at check-in. At the end of the cruise your accumulated purchases will be charged to your card.

Norwegian has changed the format of Chocoholic Night. In place of this buffet, we will now feature a special all-chocolate menu in our Main Dining Rooms on Chocoholic Night. Plus, the Garden Café and our Specialty Restaurants will also feature special chocolate desserts on their menus.

Unfortunately these types of questions, on this passenger forum, rarely receive very many responses and do not contain much information. Posting your question on NCL's Facebook page, or "Cruise Roll Call" on cruise related web sites, will likely solicit more/better responses.

Newbie Question: Boxed Lunch for Day off Boat

Travelling with the teens/tweens. Is there an option to order boxed lunches to take with us when we go to the beach in Bermuda?

I found best is to take packaged granola bars or the prepackaged cheese crackers. these are okay to take off ship. definitely no fruits or veggies either off or back on ship. enjoy the local produce when you're there. I asked on my last cruises and NCL said as long as it was sealed/prepackaged it was okay. but you can normally find local spots that sell snack or sandwich items reasonable right off the ship.

No. You are prohibited to take any kind of food, vegetables or fruits into the country to prevent the risk of introducing parasites into the country. Normally, your bags won't be checked when you disembark at the port but if you have any prohibited food item, you can get fined.

No option for boxed lunches to go; eat a big meal before leaving the ship, and then again when you return. You can take some bottled water with you and there will be eateries around the beach area as well.

Where do you get free coffee in the morning?

at least on the Pearl and I would assume all NCL ships, the Java Café on main, deck 7, charges for everything. you ask for plain old coffee and they tell you they only have espresso and you pay lots for it. no free muffins or anything. you could probably get at the Blue Lagoon but believe it is closed on departure morning. buffets are best, coffee all day

At the buffet or any dining venue on board. Regular coffee is free at all venues. To my knowledge you only pay extra for specialty coffees at the Java Cafe on deck 7 in the Atrium.

Are there any advantages to booking your shore excursions before the cruise? Why can't I access choice for time?

as someone else said, they do have on board excursion desk but I have been on some cruises where the line was quite long and took long time to get helped. plus if you wait, your excursion and/or time may be sold out.
NCL does have an excursion number you can call to help and they are very helpful responding to any questions you may have regarding a particularly excursion. some popular ones sell out way in advance and others are no problem booking on the ship.

answer 2
The primary advantage in my opinion is securing a spot for your excursion of choice, as their is a chance it could sell out. Not too sure about why you cannot access the choice for time, but it may be possible only one time is available, or the other time may be sold out. You can call NCL or your travel agent directly to discuss.

on my last 2 cruises, I was given bottle of wine with dinner from the casino package I booked thru and I was able to take the bottle back to my room. I take now one of the sealing caps from home so I can have wine when sitting on the balcony. or as others said, they will store. they do have decent selection with various prices. enjoy

No. But you have several options! 1) You can bring wine you like on board and pay a very reasonable corkage charge and then bring it to the dining room with you 2) Purchase a bottle from NCL. They have a nice wine list I think and the prices are not bad and as the other writer said you don't have to drink the bottle at one sitting LOL, they will hold it for you and give you a ticket and whats nice is that you can have the rest of that bottle at any of the restaurants. 3) You can buy a wine package (bottles) on embarkation day at a discounted price and then you just present the ticket to your server and he will fetch the bottle and serve it to you. It's actually quite nice! 4) The caps and cork package and BTW NCL's house red is very good!

No. There's an extensive wine list with selections by the bottle or the glass. You can also take advantage of a package available on board where you can buy 4, 6 or 8 bottles from a limited list at a substantial discount.

No, but there are several ways to purchase wine. By the glass, unlimited beer and wine package called caps and corks, buy multiple bottles at a discount or individual bottles.

Wine, spirits and soda drinks are NOT included. You may purchase a bottle aboard if you like and they will hold it/them for you each day and bring it out at meal time as you request. There are drink packages available, but be careful...some require everyone in the cabin to join.
