I am also sailing on the 31st and yes some of my family will be dressing up. I asked if there will be a Halloween Party and NCL's response is below.

Yes, this will take place on 10/31 but the time and location will be provided to you once you’re onboard, this will be on the Freestyle Daily.

Question

Where do I buy the pass for the lap pool?

People say it's part of the spa. When and where can I sign up? It's a high priority for me and I don't want to miss out.

Go to either the front desk or the spa when you board. First come first served until they sell out. If it's important to you, board as early as possible. They ofter sell out as there are a limited number of passes sold.

You cannot make spa reservations before your cruise. You have to make it onboard the ship. I suggest making the reservation on the first day of the cruise.

Port or Starboard?

Is the Dawn cruise leaving on October 24th a port or starboard tie up in Bermuda?

You won't know until you arrive. I have been there 4 times and docked on both sides. This past Sunday the Dawn docked port side to the dock. There is a beautiful view from either side. If you are facing the dock there is more activity, the Dockyard, the Fort and beyond that is the Atlantic. Facing away you have the large bay with Hamilton in the distance and the ocean and Bermuda everywhere else.

No way to forecast. It depends on wind, weather, tides and the training needs of the ship. It tends to alternate with no set pattern.

Can't say as there's no set standard for which side of the ship is facing the pier. Not sure if it's Captain's choice or contingent upon sea/weather conditions. Great views from both sides of the ship regardless of how the ship is docked.

Yes, it's available throughout most of the ship. There is a cost. It is somewhat slow and a little expensive.

Wifi is not free, is a satellite connection which can be slow and reception on the ship varies depending on your location on the ship.

Refer to the following link for more info.

All NCL ships have Wi-Fi.
You can purchase minutes in blocks of 30/60/100/250 or pay as you use.
Remember that the ship uses satellite communication for internet connection and it's quite slow.

My husband and I are joining you on the Dawn tomorrow - we called our NCL rep yesterday and he told us that passengers would be notified today if there is an itinerary change. We didn't talk about where it may go if we can't go to Bermuda though...see you in 25 hours! Fingers crossed for warm aqua safe waters

The hurricane will probably have passed Bermuda by the time you reach the island. If required you will spend an additional day at sea to avoid the path of the hurricane. Check with NCL for up-to-date information.

Check NCL's website for latest updates on the changes to your cruise. In the past, in case of weather related issues, NCL has diverted the path of the ship to avoid hurricanes and it may spend an extra day or so at sea to avoid the hurricane. They will not cancel the cruise unless it effects the departure port.

NCL will reroute a cruise if there is a threat of a hurricane. In past years people have gone to Canada and yesterday people went off to the Bahamas. They do what ever is necessary to keep things safe and fun. (sailing on 10/31--- wondering if Bermuda will be open)

What should we take on our Excursions? Will they have lockers or a secure place to stow thing?

Every excursion is different. I would not plan on having a secure lock up for valuables. The best place to ask the question is with the tour provider.

Which port? Which excursion?
No two ports or excursions will have the same facilities. Lockers are not available in most of the excursions we have been on. You are responsible for what you carry. On some excursions, if it is a conducted tour, your bus driver will allow you to leave stuff on the bus because they will stay back on the bus. As far as changing is concerned, there will be some sort of restroom to change but it may not be clean or large enough to change.

The handrails and steps lead into the pool. I'm not sure if the handrails go all the way in but the steps go into the water.

Question

We do offer laundry and dry cleaning services. The prices for the services will be available once you are onboard. We do not have any self service laundry facilities.

The rules of this forum prohibit the discussion of cost for goods and services. However, the cost of laundry service is quite reasonable. On a 7 day cruise, they usually offer a discount sometime half way through the cruise where you can a laundry bag and you can get anything that you can fit in the bag cleaned for a fixed price. I'm sure on a 14 days cruise, they will offer the same deal couple of times during the cruise.
