We used SAS transportation. They will pick you up at the airport and take you to the ship for $15 per person. They were prompt, courteous, and friendly. Just google SAS transportation and make a reservation through their email. We will use them again.

I took a taxi from FLL to the Port of Miami last year. It was $85 and the driver was upset when I wanted to use my credit card. I would strongly recommend calling NCL before you leave and use the shuttle.

NCL has a shuttle service that is $25 each way from the FLL airport. You can book the shuttle thru NCL.

I use Infinity transportation and have for many years. I do not take from airport but I do live in Ft Laud very close by. They are reasonably priced to be in a nicer car than a Taxi.

The Port of Miami is about 30 miles from FLL and a taxi ride would cost you around $70.

Go to the Ft. Lauderdale web site; there you will find " Ft. Lauderdale Shuttle Services", which lists several different options for travel between the airport and Miami cruise terminals, some of which are less expensive than taxis. You can also make advance reservations.

To Atlantis by taxi?

If not wanting a formal tour and the money involved, is it feasible to take a taxi to and from Atlantis, and just wander around, and can you see the aquariums without an admission fee?

Yes you can get to Atlantis by taxi. It cost us $11 (before tip) from around the Straw Market for a private taxi. We got back for $4 each (gave the driver a 10) in a taxi you can get from the entrance of Atlantis. It will take you right back to the harbor. We went to the casino and wanted to see the aquarium but couldn't find our way over there and then we ran out of time. Don't know if there is a fee--think there is if you are not a guest at Atlantis.

Was in Nassau Nov 2012. Took ferry to Paradise Island for $4.00 per person. Short walk to Atlantis from ferry pier. On the way back to ship took taxi from hotel for the same price per person as ferry. Going back to mainland there is no toll on the bridge.

I have stayed at Atlantis twice, and intend to visit it again with friends during our upcoming cruise. The best way to go is to walk through the Nassau Straw Market (visit all the great shops), then take the water taxi across to Paradise Island. This takes about 25 minutes on the water. Then it is a brief walk up to Atantis. You can visit the shops, casino, and restaurants at no charge. If you stop for a drink in one of the bars, you can usually go through the "Dig" at no charge. It is awesome - don't miss Atlantis.

Yes. You can take a taxi to Atlantis but along with what you pay for the taxi you will also have to pay the toll at the bridge. To see the aquarium you must buy a ticket.
If you take the tour they take care of the transportation, the tolls and the admission fee. In addition, you get a guide who gives you a bit of the history of the hotel and some facts about the aquarium and so on.

You are freestyle cruising. Dress code is resort casual. There are a couple of dining rooms that do not allow shorts -- The Manhattan and the French Bistro. Other than the no shorts rule.. anything goes from slacks and collared shirt to full tuxedos.

Lobster night is the night you sail away from your embarcation port. SAT for us.

The dress code is a matter of where you eat...never more than nice pants and collared shirt.....but then again, you never have got to get out of shorts and t-shirt, if you do not want.....

You are crusing Freestyle. Formal clothes are not required on NCL. You can wear "smart casual" clothes to the specialty dining rooms and the main dining rooms.

Lobster is served in the main dining hall on the first night.

Check for available staterooms and their price on NCL's website. That should give you an idea on how much it will cost to upgrade.
Since you already have a reservation, you will need to contact NCL or your travel agent to make the reservation changes.

You will need to contact your PCC or the NCL Reservation department (or your Travel Agent, if you used one to book your cruise) to see what is available on your sailing.

You will have to go through the check-in process at the port. They will check your documents, passports, take a photo and issue you your room key cards. They will ask for a credit card at that time to setup your onboard account.
There are plenty of check-in counters and since the guests arrive at different times, there is hardly any wait time and you are done in 10-15 min.

I don't believe you can open the onboard account until you are aboard. I just sent myself some casino credits, and that, as other pre-trip reservations such as restaurants and excursions, has been billed to my credit card.

Question

Is there wi fi avaiable in the staterooms? If so, same per minute charge as in the Internet cafe?

asked 11 months ago
by
EagerCruiser
on Norwegian Epic

answer 1
Wifi is available in the statrooms and the same package purchased can be signed in on your computer, tablet, or at the internet cafe.

A laser printer is hooked up to the kiosks at the internet cafe.

Speed through the satellite was extremely slow (typically 30-60 secs after hitting enter to get your next page) and on the last day at sea, so many users were trying to use their minutes up, that access time to the logon was 5-10 MINUTES just to get to the sign on screen!

A big warning is that you have to logout of your wireless session by typing logout.com if you don't, the internet thinks you are still connected and your minutes will be lost.

We went from 248 minutes to 0 because we didn't get confirmation that we had logged off the wifi.

By explaining our situation in the internet cafe, they restored 90 min so that we could print out our travel documents / boarding passes to fly out of MIA.

Wi-fi is available on the ship but reception may vary based on your location and from what I've heard it's not very fast. You are charged per minute regardless of whether you are using your own laptop or computers in the Internet Cafe.

LOL

The lifeboats sticking out from Deck 7 for the entire length of the ship will make your retrievals problematic.

Cruising at 20 knots + is well above a good trolling speed.

No. Due to safety reasons you cannot fish from the ship.
However, you could take a fishing trip on your shore excursion.
