Passport and Passcards for Nassau Bahamas

When disembarking at Nassau Bahamas, do I have to carry my passport with me? Or can I just leave in room safe?

You are not required to carry your passport when you disembark at the port. All you need is a photo id like a drivers licence and your room keycard to get back into the port.
However, if by chance, you miss the departure time and you are left behind, you will have to fly back to US and you will need a passport for it.
I would suggest leaving the passports in the safe but taking a photo copy of the passport with you ... just in case.

All you need to get back onto the ship is your NCL key card and some form of government issued ID card such as a drivers license.

Question

We are a group of 12 and want to dine together each night in the main dining room. Can we make reservation for same time & table nightly?

We are okay with an early seating. Can we book this in advance of boarding or first day?

You are cruising Freestyle. There are no assigned times or seats for dinner. Just as in a regular restaurant, you can go anytime the restaurant is open and the seating is on a first come first serve basis. The restaurants are usually open for dinner from around 5:30 PM to about 10 PM.
You cannot make reservations for the main dining rooms. The specialty restaurants do accept reservation.

I think you can make those reservations with the Restaurant Manager or Maitre'd once on board. You could try calling NCL Reservations to see if it can be pre-arranged.

There are no seating times with Freestyle Dining, you show up when you are hungry. You may talk to the maitre'd when you first board and something may be set up because they do sometimes allow large groups to make reservations.

I almost always bring my swiss army knife, and usually pack it in my carry on and have never had an issue. On my most recent cruise I packed in my luggage that I checked in, (just in case) and everything was fine.

Here is a link to the prohibited item list, which admittedly isn't much help:
http://www.ncl.com/faq#what-to-bring . I would say that if you are able to bring it on a plane then you probably won't have difficulty bringing it on a ship.

All pools on Norwegian ships are outdoors and contain salt water and are chlorinated as per USPH regulations.

Yes, all the pools are salt water pools.
The ships frequently drain the pools to clean them and it's expensive to create fresh water from salt water.

The check-in process usually starts at around 11 AM and they will let you board the ship around 12 noon. However, you will not be allowed into your staterooms until 2-3 PM to give the staff enough time to clean the rooms. You can have lunch on board the ship and explore the public areas of the ship.

The check in process usually begins around 11am, and boarding usually begins around noon; your stateroom will not be available till around 1pm, but you are free to explore the ship, grab a bite to eat at either the buffet or main restaurant. Or grab a drink at any of the bars on board.

Not sure if it can be ordered online via "My NCL", but if possible it would definitely be available within 45 days of your embarkation date. You can also check ordering options, which includes terms & conditions, via the following link.

Yes, the closets are small but you can keep hand bags or small suitcases in the closet floor. The bigger suitcases can easily be pushed under the bed. You can easily fit 2 large suitcases under the bed.
