Technically all you need is a government ID. The only issue with not bringing a passport is that is something happens and you need to be left behind, you will have issues getting back to the US. To be on the safe side, I would bring everything you have....marriage licenses, divorce decrees, passport, birth certificate, and drivers license. Best to err on the side of caution in my opinion.

If you are a US citizen, you either need a passport or Birth Certificate along with a govt issued photo id like a driver's lic. It is always advisable to carry your passport just in case you miss the ship and you have to fly back into the country.
However, if your reservation is in a different name from what is shown in the driver's lic or passport, I would suggest carrying your marriage and divorce certificates. Most probably you won't need to use it (drivers lic would suffice) but just in case the officials had additional questions, any extra certificates you carry will mean less time and hassle explaining the situation.
