Superbowl viewing?

Will the broadcast of the Superbowl be available on the Gem on Feb 2, 2014?

I just got off the Gem today. We were able to see the conference championship games on all the televisions that are in public areas. They had it playing on the huge screen in the atrium. They also were serving nachos and popcorn in the atrium while the games were playing. I would believe they would do the same thing for the super bowl. Also, the games were also shown on channels that you can get on your stateroom televisions.

Yes most likely it would be. They carry weekly football games, I don't see why they wouldn't carry the Superbowl.

Yes. You will be able to view the game in any of the bars on the ship. The large screen in the atrium will also show the game. However, the channels you receive in your stateroom are limited and I'm not sure if you will be able to watch the Superbowl in your room.

Yes, there are staterooms that have connecting doors. Check the floor plans to find the connecting staterooms. The connecting staterooms are marked with a double headed arrow.

We've not had any issue with storing luggage and it should fit under the bed, in the closet or elsewhere in the room.

Yes, the closets are small but you can keep hand bags or small suitcases in the closet floor. The bigger suitcases can easily be pushed under the bed. You can easily fit 2 large suitcases under the bed.

Is there laundry facilities on board ship to do your own laundry?

answer 1
No. There are no self-service laundries. All ships offer laundry, dry clean & pressing services. They have laundry bags in your stateroom that you can give to the cabin stewards. Usually around the middle of the cruise they offer discounts on the services.
However, I wouldn't use it for any delicate or expensive dresses.

The check-in process usually starts at around 11 AM and they will let you board the ship around 12 noon. However, you will not be allowed into your staterooms until 2-3 PM to give the staff enough time to clean the rooms. You can have lunch on board the ship and explore the public areas of the ship.

The check in process usually begins around 11am, and boarding usually begins around noon; your stateroom will not be available till around 1pm, but you are free to explore the ship, grab a bite to eat at either the buffet or main restaurant. Or grab a drink at any of the bars on board.

Check-in usually begins around 10;30 AM with boarding starting around noon. Staterooms may not be available until later in the afternoon but you can have lunch on board and explore the ship in the meantime until the mandatory life boat safety drill.

Leaving port, you will want to be on the starboard side (right as you face the front of ship). On the way in, it will be on the left. Either room will let you see it. Personally, I like to see it when its dark, it looks cool all lighted up.

As you leave the harbor, the statue will be off to starboard. So 9004 (or any 90xx or 91xx stateroom) would be better.
