No. There are no self-service laundries. All ships offer laundry, dry clean & pressing services. They have laundry bags in your stateroom that you can give to the cabin stewards. Usually around the middle of the cruise they offer discounts on the services.
However, I wouldn't use it for any delicate or expensive dresses.

Leaving out of New Orleans on the Jewel. Are we allowed to pack our water and have it checked with our luggage?

I packed some water last Jan. I had to go down and open my bag to reveal what I had packed. When they found out it as just a few bottles of water, they smiled and let me have my bag. New Orleans WILL NOT let you check water in. I have bought a small luggage carrier from Walmart that I am planning on carrying my water onboard. This will fold up and I can put it in my suitcase coming back.

Please be aware, there are two ports that do not allow you to check a case of water or soda. Tampa and New Orleans. NCL does not have an issue with either port, it is the dock workers that will not take it. Be prepared as you will be disappointed if you plan on checking it in.
This is our 5th trip out of New Orleans and they have been refusing cases of water and soda on every trip. As long as your ready to carry it on you will be fine.

I'M A BIT CONFUSED CUZ I JUST SPOKE WITH A NORWEGIAN REP, & SHE SAID YOU CAN CHECK A CASE OF WATER (IT'LL COUNT AS I OF YOUR 2 CHECKED BAGS) IF YOU'RE GOING OUT OF NEW ORLEANS.
YOU MIGHT WANT TO CALL NCL & SEE WHAT THEY SAY. IF THEY TELL YOU "NO" WILL YOU PLEASE POST THAT ON HERE OR YOU CAN POST IT ON MY QUESTION ( IF I BRING A CASE OF WATER ONBOARD IS IT CONSIDERED AS 1 OF MY CHECKED BAGS?) WHICH CURRENTLY HAS 0 ANSWERS.
THANKS

No, New Orleans is one of the ports that don't allow checked water or soda. If it is inside a suitcase or bag and the dock workers can't tell what it is it will get on the ship. More than likely it will be viewed on the xray machine and you will have to go retrieve it after you board.
If you pack it in a suitcase, be prepared as they are handled a lot and stacked very high when loading the ship.

I would plan on carrying it on and not checking it.

There are sports bars with televisions onboard and if there is a satellite signal then they would be most likely to put on the game, however theres no way to confirm that until you are onboard.

I'm sure you will be able to find the game someplace, whether it be in the atrium or in the sports bar, or one of the lounges on board.

Games are sometimes shown in the bars. Ask if the one you want is available and perhaps they can tune it in for you. Depends on what is available on the ship.

No. Due to fire hazard issues, the staterooms do not have clothes iron and you are not allowed to bring irons on board the ship. However, you can request the Guest Services Desk or the cabin stewards they will be happy to bring you an iron and ironing board for a few hours.

Your room steward will bring you an iron upon request for use for a short period of time. If I remember correctly, they will bring an ironing board also. They are very accommodating.

Yes we do offer a Bar Setup where you are able to purchse bottles of alcohol and have them delvered to your cabin on every ship except the Pride of America. You may be able to add a Bar Setup by either logging into you ncl.com account or by calling into the Reservations Department.

You can absolutely call and order a bar setup before sailing. They will give you prices for different brands. It doesn't matter what kind of room you have or if you are a VIP. If you are in an Owners Suite or the Garden Villa, your room comes with a bar setup so no need to pre-order.

You cannot bring drinks of any kind on board except wine, which has a $15 corking fee per bottle. Soda and alcohol are where the cruise ships make their money.

You cannot buy hard liquor bottles on board the ship nor are you allowed to take it with you. NCL does have the option, usually for VIP guests, where they can call NCL's reservation desk at least 30 days ahead of the sail date and have NCL make the arrangements to deliver the bottle to your stateroom. However, you have to pay a premium price for it and it probably won't be worth the cost.

The Cruise Rewards Program is available on every sailing. You would put down a deposit for a future cruise and then in return receive an onboard credit to be used on the current sailing that your on. Once you are onbaord you may inquire about this to the Guest Services Desk.

Yes, it's called Freestyle Cruise Rewards and info available via the following link.

We have done this for several years now and never had any issue in using the Cruise Reward as a deposit on a future cruise at a later date.

The unlimited packages have to be purchased by everyone in the room over age 21. There are also smaller deals. For instance you should be able to get a bucket of beer where you pay for 5 and get 1 free. Also there are wine packages where you save a % off buying a few bottles. They will give you tickets for each bottle which you can bring with you and retrieve in the dining room or in one of the bars.

Main dining room vs paid dining

are the paid dining options worth it? There are four different restaurants we are considering, but we don't know if we want to do all four, if any.

The free restaurants have wonderful food so they are certainly worth doing. But paid dining is ultimate for fine multi-course meals. What we especially like are quieter tables and intimate waiters with more classy experience who upgrade your evening. So I do suggest that you include some paid dining during your cruise, but it's not needed every night.

The paid dinning restaurants are delicious. They post the menus for the main dining rooms in the morning, so look at the menu. If nothing excites you, don't hesitate to go to any paid restaurant.

To a large extent it depend on what you like. We don't go to Cagney's as the wife does not enjoy steak as much as I do so it's not worthwhile. For us we enjoyed Chin Chin and Teppanyaki. Teppanyaki is also entertaining as well especially if you have children with you. So choose based on what you like or want to experience.
