I hear there is an NCL shuttle service.. Is it available from a New Jersey hotel and at what cost ?

There are none listed, as per the link below, for getting to the Manhattan Cruise Terminal from New Jersey. You could try calling NCL, number in the link below also, to see if there are any options. Depending on the New Jersey hotel location it could possibly be a relatively short taxi ride. Check with the hotel and see if they have any recommendations.

Question

Passport CARD on Breakaway NY/Bahamas?

I'm having difficulty getting a straight answer on whether a US Passport CARD is acceptable documentation for the Breakaway NY/Bahamas cruise? Has anyone traveled on this cruise using the passport card?

Yes the U.S. Passport Card is sufficient for sailing.
Note: If you miss your ship at its scheduled U.S. departure port and need to travel outside the U.S. to meet your ship, or should you unexpectedly need to depart the ship from a foreign port prior to the end of sailing, a passport would be required to leave or re-enter the U.S. by air. To that end, Norwegian Cruise Line strongly recommends all guests to obtain a passport for their voyage on any Norwegian Cruise Line vessel.

You don't need a passport for the Bahamas, only government issued ID -- but the Passport card specifically states on the back that it is "Valid only for international land and SEA travel between United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and BERMUDA." (right off the back of my card). So your passport card should suffice.

When checking in at the pier just advise the representative that you want to use the same Credit card for both cabins.

Yes, you can use whatever credit card you want for a full stateroom or have different cards for each person, it's up to you. We shared a suite amongst four of us (siblings) and each had our own credit card on file, and then I had my card on file for my son in a different stateroom.

Laundry service, yes. Machines that you can use, no. One day during the week-long cruises there's a special "all you can fit in the bag" price offering.

If you are sailing to Bermuda, the drinking age is 18. Parents must sign a consent form at Guest Service Desk for their 18 year old child. They will then be allowed to drink wine or beer. The parent is still responsible for them.

We used to take a case of water with us. The last 3 cruises, we just took insulated sports drinking bottles. We fill with ice and then fill up with tap water. The ice and water is the same that is served free in the bars and restaurants. It tastes fine and we have had no issues.

Yes, you can get a glass of water anywhere on the ship. We brought two cases with us (5 of us), as I like to have a bottle with me as I walk around. You can bring whatever you want wherever you want, but a .5 ltr bottle with a cap is easier. Plus I like water ice cold, so I keep them in the fridge (I remove all the mini-bar items)

You get regular filtered water for free but not bottled water. Bottled water is available but not complimentary. It is cheaper to check in your own cases of water in case you prefer bottled water over tap water.

Predicting the weather is a billion dollar industry and yet the weather cannot be predicted accurately. You can get different answers from different people and you may experience may be totally different.
When we went to Bermuda, last Sept, we had sunshine and rain. The rains were heavy enough for us to get stuck in a gift shop for over an hour. Yet, we had good days too with plenty of sunshine.

The weather is actually very close to the weather in New York, with typically the same amount of rainfall. However, the sun is much stronger so it is very easy to get sunburn. We had 3 beautiful sunny days in a row there July 9th, 10th & 11th.
